
Puri (Odisha) – Odisha Police took nine Bangladeshi citizens into custody for entering Jagannath Temple. On 3rd March 2024, a few members of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) noticed the Bangladeshi nationals entering the temple. They then filed a complaint with Sinmdwar Police Station. As per the Temple’s rules, only Hindus can enter this temple and strict action is taken against a non-Hindu for violating the Rules.

This is the result of not expelling Bangladeshi citizens from the country. Note that no Government is trying to evict them.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sushil Mishra said that a complaint was received by the Police about Bangladeshi nationals entering the Temple. Nine Bangladeshis have been detained by the Police and are being interrogated. One of them is a Hindu. Out of the nine Bangladeshi citizens, four had entered the Temple.
