Won’t exchange information with Canada until evidence in the Nijjar case is presented : India warns

Ottawa (Canada) – Indian High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma, has clarified that India would not share any information with Canada until the evidence collected by Canadian investigation agencies in the Nijjar Singh murder case is presented to India. He has made this statement in an interview given to the ‘Globe and Mail’ newspaper in Canada. Nijjar was murdered on 18th June 2023 in Surrey, Canada. Relations between India and Canada have deteriorated since Canada accused India of being involved in the murder.

Verma added, “We need accurate and concrete evidence related to this case. Only then will we be able to help Canada in the investigation ? How can India help Canada without evidence ? So far, I have not received any request from Canada to cooperate in the investigation. I want to say that if anyone hatches a conspiracy to threaten the unity of India, its consequences will surely come to the fore.”
