Khandwa (MP) – Karnataka Police have arrested a Maulana named Mufti Ghulam Jilani from Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. He was accused of raping a 24-year-old teacher. The victim is a resident of Karnataka. The Maulana would inject the victim with drugs before raping her. He also forced her into having 2 abortions. The Police were on the lookout for the accused after the victim complained to a Police station in Bengaluru.
Maulana Ghulam Jilani went to Hubballi in Karnataka in 2020-21. He first came into contact with the victim here. The Maulana then brought the victim along with another teacher from Karnataka to train the children in the Madarasa at Ahmedpur in Khandwa. The Maulana was married to another teacher. But due to some conflict between them, he left her in Karnataka. After this, he repeatedly raped the victim by giving her drugs. The Karnataka Police are currently investigating the matter.
