Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir is on a visit to the US. He recently met UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. During this meeting, he raised the issue of Kashmir and said that peace will be established in the South Asia only when a peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute is found under UN Security Council’s resolution and the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

General Munir, while talking to Guterres, also expressed his disapproval of India’s abrogation of Article 370, which had given special status to Kashmir. He said that India’s decision was unilateral and against the UN resolution. Earlier, Munir also met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Minister Lloyd Austin. He also raised the issue of Kashmir before them. General Munir also expressed concern over the ongoing Israel-Palestine war and demanded an early declaration of ceasefire.

Editorial Perspective

Kashmir is an integral part of India.  Please note that the Pakistan Army Chief is begging in the US because of the fear that after abrogation of Article 370, the fearless new India may now gain control over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as well.
