Karachi, Pakistan – Pakistan’s economic struggles include currency depreciation and financial deficits, leading to stringent measures to prevent default. Along with inflation in fuel, electricity, food, passports have also become difficult to get. A shortage of lamination paper has led to a virtual halt of issuance of new passports in Pakistan. The country imports the paper from France. It has created a big question mark for those who want to go abroad for education or jobs. The Public Relations officer of Home Ministry, Kadir Yar Tiwana, has given an assurance that; Pakistani Government is trying to control the situation very soon. In Pakistan nearly 3-4 thousand passports were being made every day; now, only 12-13 passports are being made.
