Editorial Perspective
Reflecting on historical events, it is important to recall the 1962 conflict when China captured around 38,000 square kilometres of Indian land. During that time, India’s then-Prime Minister and Rahul Gandhi’s grandfather, Nehru, lamented in Parliament that China had encroached upon land where even vegetation could not thrive. This situation emerged because of Nehru’s conciliatory approach of “Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai,” which ultimately proved counterproductive. Notably, Rahul Gandhi has chosen not to comment on this specific incident. |
