A notice regarding this action has been issued to Amanatullah Khan, the Chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board. Furthermore, notices have been affixed outside the relevant properties.

Following the order of the Delhi High Court, the Union Government established a two-member Committee led by retired Justice SP Garg. This Committee conducted an evaluation and recommended the acquisition of the 123 properties currently under the administration of the Delhi Waqf Board. Originally donated to the Board by the previous Congress Government, the decision to donate these properties was contested by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in 2014. Consequently, the Court established a Committee under retired Justice Garg. Subsequently, the Union Government decided to assume control of the properties based on the Committee’s suggestions. While the Delhi Waqf Board lodged a petition in opposition to these recommendations, the Court dismissed the petition in May 2023.
