Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that the Government would consider the demands for creating a new Police unit for tackling ‘Love Jihad’. The assurance comes after a delegation of Hindu organisations (Such as Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Ranaragini, Durga Sena, Sri Ram Sene) met the Minister at his official residence and submitted a memorandum.
‘Despite the implementation of the Anti-Conversion Law in the State, ‘Love Jihad’ has not yet stopped. Hence, just like it is in Uttar Pradesh, an Anti ‘Love Jihad’ task force should be set up here as well. An NIA report claims that the Shaheen Gang is currently active in 5 Districts and that some maulvis and madarasas are promoting ‘Love Jihad’ activities. Such people should be brought to book’, read the memorandum.
