Guwahati (Assam) – Aminul Islam, MLA of All India United Democratic Front from Assam, claimed, “I am saying what country saw under the Mughal rule. A historian has cited in his book, Aurangzeb had donated land to many temples. Many Mughal rulers had donated land for many temples and priests. The Kamakhya temple is one of them.”

Commenting on the claims by MLA Aminul Islam, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “If Aminul Islam makes such a statement again, he will be behind the bar. Under my rule, no statement against civilization and culture will be tolerated. If he wants to remain outside the jail, he can talk about economics. Also, he can criticise me. Nobody can speak wrong about Kamakhya, Shakardev, Budha, Mahaveer, and Mohammad  Paigamber.”
