New Delhi – The Delhi Police have arrested Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu for his involvement in the Red Fort violence on Republic Day. Farmers involved in the protest on the borders of Delhi had carried out a tractor rally on 26th January. The rally had turned violent, as several ‘farmers’ barged into the Red Fort. Deep Sidhu, an accused, has been absconding since the last 14 days. Gurunam Singh Chaduni, leader of ‘Bharatiya Kisan Union’ has accused Deep Sidhu of instigating the farmers. After the incident, Chaduni said, “The farmers were not at all interested in going towards the Red Fort”. Deep Sidhu’s name has been linked to the BJP. Shiv Sena and other opposition parties have claimed that the BJP is involved in this violence.
