MLC claimed that as Savarkar “begged and apologised” to the British for his release, his Portrait in the Assembly gallery is an insult to the great freedom fighters.

Lucknow (UP) – In a letter to UP Vidhan Parishad Chairman, Congress MLC Deepak Singh sought immediate removal of Savarkar’s photo from the Assembly gallery, labelling it as an insult to all freedom fighters. Attacking the ruling party, Singh proposed that the portrait can instead be placed at the BJP office.

Singh further stated in his letter
- After a few months of imprisonment in Andaman Prison, Savarkar had written an apology letter to the British stating that he will keep himself away from the Indian freedom struggle and will be faithful to the Britishers. After which he was released and started a campaign against India. (Not Savarkar but the Congress has acted against India. Be it the Kashmir issue or the Chinese invasion, History has witnessed that the Congress is responsible in giving away thousands of square kilometres of Indian land to Pakistan and China and thereby ruining the nation.- Editor )
- At the Hindu Maha Sabha Conference in Ahmedabad, Savarkar presented Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s two-nation idea. (This has no evidence on the contrary history is witness that the Congress especially Gandhi and Nehru supported Jinnah’s two-nation Idea which led to partition. – Editor )
- Savarkar Assisted the British against the Azad Hind Sena of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. (Another ridiculous statement of Congress. It is well known that Savarkar himself had advised Netaji to establish an armed force. Whereas, when Netaji was in the Congress he was purposely removed from office and was compelled to quit the Congress. It is also said that as long as Netaji was alive, Nehru stopped him from returning to India. Congress should be punished for this.- Editor)
