Gumla (Jharkhand) – Vinita Uranav, 27, of Vrinda Nayak Toli village in Gumla (Jharkhand) axed Basant Gop, area commander of Naxalite organisation People’s Liberation Front of India, to death after he broke into her house to threaten her family. After firing, Gop’s men took his body and fled. Vinita is being lauded for her bravery, but her family is now in greater danger from the Naxals.
Naxals had killed a man in the village two years ago. The Naxals were threatening Vinita’s family not to testify in court in the case. They came to her house to threaten her again.
