The National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court sentenced Kausar for promoting the activities of ‘Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh-India’ in the 2014 Bardhaman bomb blast in West Bengal and the 2018 Bodh Gaya bomb blast in Bihar. Kausar had been leading the operations of ‘Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh-India’ in India.
1. A total of 11 accused have been convicted in these cases. After the Bardhaman bomb blast in October 2014, Jahidul Islam and his associates fled to Bengaluru. They were arrested in January 2018 in Bodh Gaya.
2. In 2018, as part of a conspiracy to raise funds, they committed four robberies in Bengaluru, using the stolen money to purchase ammunition and carry out terrorist activities.
Editorial PerspectiveThis case highlights how Bangladeshi illegal immigrants come to India solely to engage in terrorist activities. Therefore, the public must pressure the Government to take action against every Bangladeshi intruder. |
