Akhilesh Yadav has faced criticism from the BJP. BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said that Akhilesh Yadav is upset about excavation in Sambhal. In 2013, while serving as Chief Minister, Yadav used the entire machinery to excavate 1,000 tonnes of gold. He is interested in digging for gold, but when excavation leads to finding a Shivalinga, he finds it problematic.
