FIR registered against Doordarshan journalist Ashok Srivastava in Telangana for criticising Rahul Gandhi

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) / Hyderabad (Telangana) – The Telangana Police has registered a case against Doordarshan journalist Ashok Srivastava for allegedly making objectionable remarks against Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. In connection with this case, Telangana Police visited Srivastava’s residence in Ghaziabad and served him a notice. However, he was not present at home at the time.

A team of two police sub-inspectors from Hyderabad had reached the Suryanagar area under the jurisdiction of Link Road Police Station in Ghaziabad to serve a notice under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

What had Ashok Srivastava said ?

During a debate on DD News, in the presence of BJP spokesperson Tuhin Sinha, political analyst Syed Javed, and other guests, Srivastava criticised Rahul Gandhi. Referring to Swatantryaveer Savarkar, he stated, “You are not even equal to the tip of Savarkar’s slippers; you are not even worth a thousandth part of the dust of his slippers. Rahul Gandhi is not even worth a speck of dust on the sole of Veer Savarkar’s slippers.”
