Iran presents a peace proposal to the United States
(A strait is a narrow waterway that connects two large bodies of water, such as seas or oceans.)

Tehran (Iran) – Iran has presented a proposal to the United States through Pakistan stating that if the U.S. abandons its insistence on restricting Iran’s nuclear program, Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The peace proposal consists of three key points:
1. The U.S. should drop its demand to halt Iran’s nuclear program.
2. A complete ceasefire should be implemented, along with guarantees to prevent future military actions by the U.S. and Israel. The blockade imposed by U.S. forces in the Strait of Hormuz should be lifted.
3. Iran has expressed that these three points should be implemented in phases.
In response, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran must first reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which it had closed.
