Shri. Arjun Sampath

The sacrifice of the soldiers and generals for the Hindavi Swarajya as envisaged by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is supreme. Similarly, in the present times, many devout Hindus and patriotic citizens of this country have been striving to protect the Nation & Dharma.

The ‘Hindutva Warriors’ is a series of Articles that sheds light on their lives and struggles to protect Hindu Dharma. We hope that this serves as a catalyst for the mission of establishing the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ and inspires many others. – Editor

1. Introduction

Shri. Arjun Sampath was born on April 20th, 1965. He grew up in the village of Periyagoundanur near Pollachi in Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. In his childhood, he attended several public meetings of Periyar (an atheist and anti-Hindu leader) and K Kamaraj with his father. His father was a follower of Periyar. It is remarkable that a Hindu nationalist leader emerged from such a family. Due to financial constraints, he had to drop out of school after 12th grade in 1982. He worked as a sales representative in a private company and later worked in his father’s barbershop. During this time, he started the ‘Little Flower Welfare Centre’ in his village, helping children with extracurricular activities, sports, etc. He also organised debates, competitions, and various events.

Opponents have attempted to kill Shri. Sampath several times. In 2016, his car was set on fire. Recalling these incidents, he said, “By the grace of Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale, I have been able to survive many difficult situations. Once, terrorists threw a petrol bomb at my house. It was only by His grace that we were saved. With Gurudev’s blessings and grace, I continue to work for Hindu Dharma”.

2. Participation in the mission to protect Hindu Dharma

In 1981, thousands of Dalits in Meenakshipuram, Tamil Nadu, converted to Islam. At that time, Shri. Sampath was only 16 years old. This incident made him realise the lack of Hindu identity, and he understood the importance of organisations dedi-cated to the preservation and promotion of Hindu Dharma.

From the mid-1980s to 1993, as a member of the RSS Parivar, he actively participated in various national movements. These included the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement, the movement to free Hindu temples from Government control, and campaigns to bring converted Hindus back to Hindu Dharma.

In the last 10 years, 127 Hindu leaders have been killed by Jihadis in Tamil Nadu. Shri. Arjun Sampath is leading the hitlist of the Jihadis and, despite receiving constant death threats from them, like a one-man-army, he continues to fight against Islamic extremists, atheists, and missionaries in Tamil Nadu. Today, struggle happens to be the only ray of hope for the Hindu community in Tamil Nadu. Shri. Sampath bravely leads this struggle for the Hindu community in Tamil Nadu. If more warriors like him are born in Tamil Nadu and other States, the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ will soon be a reality. .

3. Mission to protect Hindu Dharma in anti-Hindu Tamil Nadu

A. Tamil Nadu has always had Governments that were against the Nation, Dharma, and Brahmans. Currently, leaders of Dravidian parties, such as the ruling DMK, are speaking of eradicating Sanatan Dharma.

Shri. Arjun Sampath is a leading figure in the Hindu nationalist movement. He has raised his voice against the covering of the Bharat Mata statue in Kanyakumari, attacks on Hindu beliefs, and other similar issues. He has also raised voice against controversial issues such as the construction of St. Thomas Church at the original site of Shri Kapaleeswarar Temple in Chennai, the Godman web series on Zee TV, and the incident of throwing pork in 2 temple premises in Coimbatore.

B. Cow Protection : Shri. Sampath has consistently raised his voice for a nationwide beef ban. In the current year, as political parties and organisations were promoting beef consumption, he countered with a warning to distribute pork.

C. Hindu Unity : In Tamil Nadu, some political parties are constantly trying to create divisions among Hindus by propagating Aryan and non-Aryan conflicts. Shri. Sampath works to raise awareness against these efforts. A false notion that Tamils and Hindus are different is being spread, and he fights against this by uniting Hindus. Hindus not only in Tamil Nadu but also in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore and others consider Shri. Sampath as a strong support in the times of crisis.

D. Efforts to bring converted Hindus back to Hindu Dharma : The Hindu population in Tamil Nadu is decreasing while the Muslim population is increasing. In certain Districts like Kanyakumari, where the majority are Christians, churches wield considerable power. In 2015, Hindu Makkal Katchi Party initiated the first Gharwapasi Campaign. This initiative successfully brought back 18 Dalits to Hindu Dharma. To date, they have brought over 8,000 people back to Hindu Dharma from Christianity and Islam. Hindu Makkal Katchi had organised a Gharwapasi programme for 108 people at the Triplicane Temple. The Tamil Nadu Government used pressure to stop the programme and forcibly sent back many willing people, and placed Shri. Sampath under house arrest. Even after that, he tried to complete the programme.

4. Leadership of the Tamil Nadu division of the Rashtriya Ekta Yatra

From December 1991 to January 1992, a Rashtriya Ekta Yatra was organised from Kanyakumari to Srinagar. Shri. Sampath led the Tamil Nadu division of this yatra.

5. Opposition to atrocities on Tamil Hindus in Sri Lanka

Shri. Sampath has always felt that the atrocities on Tamil-speaking people in Sri Lanka should not be viewed only as attacks on Tamil people, but as atrocities on Hindus in Sri Lanka. Hindu Makkal Katchi has strongly opposed these atrocities.

6. Opposition to atrocities on Hindus in Murshidabad, Bengal

In Murshidabad, Bengal, Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators killed six Hindus under the guise of protests against the Waqf Amendment Bill, and looted their properties. The Hindu Makkal Katchi recently demanded immediate action from the BJP Government at the Centre against this violence.

Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress workers also cooperated with the rioters. Hindu Makkal Katchi recently demanded that the BJP Government at the Centre take immediate action against this too.

Positive impact of Shri. Sampath’s individual and collective spiritual practice on his mission of serving Dharma

With the blessings of Saints and spiritual leaders of Tamil Nadu, Shiva devotee Shri. Arjun Sampath, who works selflessly for Hindu Dharma and society, wears Bhasma (Holy ash) on his forehead every day. He is working to protect Hindu Dharma in adverse conditions and also practices Dharma himself.

Due to his individual and collective spiritual practice, his speech has become Divine. This has a positive impact on his followers, and hence, they are motivated to work for Dharma. After the ‘All India Hindu Rashtra Convention’ in Goa, he demanded that an Online satsang be started to receive guidance on spiritual practice. After that, the first Online satsang was held in the presence of the members of Hindu Makkal Katchi. Since his work has Divine support, he is able to efficiently work for Hindu unity and Hindu awareness.
