Maharashtra Muslim Conference puts up banners saying ‘Allah Deve Allah Dilave’ during Wari in Pune

Attempt to brainwash Warkaris by carrying out Islamic propaganda in the name of Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj

Pune – As the palanquin procession of Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj arrived in Pune city, the organisation ‘Maharashtra Muslim Conference’ put up controversial banner in the city. A banner put up at Seven Loves Chowk in Swargate displays a picture of Sant Tukaram Maharaj along with the lines from one of his abhangs, “Allah Deve Allah Dilave” and “Allah Ek Tu, Nabi Ek Tu”. Similar banners had been put up last year as a deliberate attempt to Islamise the Warkari tradition, and the same has been repeated this year.

The banner displayed at the city square features a large photograph of Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj on one side and the organisation’s founder-president, Haji Zuber Memon, on the other. Photographs of various office-bearers of the organisation are displayed below. (Many abhangs of Tukaram Maharaj highlighting the supremacy of Hindu Dharma are available. Those who seek to project harmony by referring to Tukaram Maharaj and the Warkari tradition should also study those abhangs! – Editor)

It is clearly evident from the banner that lines from Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s abhangs have been taken out of context and used to promote the organisation’s own religious agenda.

Editorial Perspective

  • This is an attempt by Islamic propagandists to claim that even a great Saint like Tukaram Maharaj composed abhangs on Allah and acknowledged his supremacy. In reality, through this abhang, Tukaram Maharaj emphasised the importance of personal effort. Hindus should remain cautious of those who selectively quote only the portions they require in order to glorify Islam.
  • If this organisation truly has such admiration for the teachings of Hindu Saints, then why does it not display banners carrying the abhangs of Sant Tukaram Maharaj at its own religious places?
