Ban Govind Pansare’s book ‘Shivaji kon hota?’ : Devout Hindus demand during protest

Register criminal cases against publishers and related organizations that did not remove singular mention of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Kolhapur, Maharashtra – ‘The book ‘Shivaji kon hota ?’ (Who was Shivaji) written by Govind Pansare not only insults Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by mentioning him singularly, but also many incidents have been written to distort history and create a false history. Instead of presenting the intense, brilliant, glorious and mighty history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the book presents a false history. Therefore, this book should be immediately banned, and strict legal action should be taken against the relevant people and organizations,’ demanded devout Hindus through a protest held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk on behalf of ‘Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti’.

After the protest, a statement was submitted to office of the Superintendent of Police. After accepting the statement, City Deputy Superintendent of Police Priya Patil and Additional Superintendent of Police Dheeraj Kumar Bachchu assured appropriate action. On this occasion, Shiv Sena’s Deputy District President Kishore Ghatge, BJP’s Mahesh Jadhav, City President of ‘Hindu Ekta Andolan’ Gajanan Todkar, Founder of ‘Shivshahi Foundation’ Sunil Samant, Vaidya Ashwini Malkar of ‘Arogya Bharati’ and Dr. Mansingh Shinde of Sanatan Sanstha expressed their views. Rambhau Methe of Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti anchored the event.

Dignitaries present – Founder of ‘Maharaja Pratishthan’ Niranjan Shinde, Vice President of Hindu Mahasabha Vikas Jadhav, Shivanand Swami of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Deputy District President of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray Group Sambhajirao Bhokare, Ashok Gurav and Prasad Kulkarni of Mandir Mahasangh, Sheelatai Mane of Hindu Mahasabha Mahila Aghadi, Former Zilla Parishad Member Mahesh Chougule, Rambhau Methe of Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti, Devout Hindus Suhas Chavan, Shashi Bidkar, Manohar Chaunani of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, District President of ‘Namo Namo’ Vikram Jarag and others.

Shivaji Maharaj’s ‘Bhavani sword’ has also been similarly insulted. The book states that ‘Bhavani Devi did not give a sword to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’. This is a well-planned conspiracy to ‘ideologically degrade’ the great men who are the foundation of Hindu identity. This has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj destroyed 5 Mughal empires and killed the aggressive Mughals. He built temples and food donation facilities in many places. He became the king of Hindus. A completely wrong image of him has been created through the book ‘Shivaji kon hota ?’. A demand was made on this occasion that the sale and distribution of this book should be banned immediately.
