Mumbai: Hindu devotees assaulted and stone-pelting on Shriram Murti during Ramnavami procession !

Mumbai – In the Malvani area, preparations were underway for a Ramnavami procession, with devotees putting up saffron flags and banners. When they reached a road in front of a mosque, some Muslims objected. A Muslim woman allegedly assaulted the devotees.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident appeared pre-planned, as a large number of religious fanatics gathered soon after the objection began and started threatening the devotees. ‘Sakal Hindu Samaj’ has filed a written complaint against the individuals involved, alleging a conspiracy to carry out a violent attack and incite a riot.

When the procession reached Savera Chowk, stones were allegedly thrown at the Idol of Shri Ram. To control the situation, police deployed heavy security and barricaded the entire area.

Malvani Police Station is located very close to the spot. Police have stated that action will be taken against those involved. (Despite the police station being nearby, such incidents occurring reflect a failure of the police administration ! – Editor)

• Is this India or Pakistan, where such incidents occur during a Ramnavami procession ? It is due to the excessive tolerance of Hindus that religious fanatics behave aggressively and defy law and order. To prevent repeated disruptions during festivals, Hindus must now demonstrate the strength of unity !

• Since festivals can be celebrated safely and joyfully only in a Hindu Rashtra, efforts must be made to establish it at the earliest !
