Strait of Hormuz will remain open for Indian ships : Iran

New Delhi – While Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz for its enemies, it has declared that it will remain open for India. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi clarified that this route is not closed to everyone. We have kept it open for our friends, but we will not allow our enemies to take even a drop of oil from here. India is one of Iran’s five closest allies, and Indian ships have been allowed safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

What is Iran’s new strategy ?

Iran has clarified its position after UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, ships from China, Russia, India, Iraq and Pakistan will not face any obstacles while passing through Hormuz. On the other hand, ships belonging to the US, Israel and their allies will be considered enemy ships, and the route will be completely closed to them. Only countries that have not participated in any aggressive action against Iran will be allowed to pass through this route. For this, coordination with the Iranian Navy is mandatory.

Indian warships protecting Indian cargo ships

18 Indian ships were stranded in the Strait of Hormuz; however, due to India’s successful diplomacy, 4 ships carrying petroleum products have been safely released, and 5 more ships will reach India soon. India has launched ‘Operation Urja Suraksha’ to protect these ships. The Indian Navy has deployed more than 5 warships in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. The Indian Navy is protecting Indian cargo ships and oil tankers by acting as a shield to ensure that the supply of LPG, LNG and crude oil is not disrupted.
