Barshi (Dist Solapur) Freed of Loudspeakers

Loudspeakers are being removed from a mosque in Barshi

Barshi, Maharashtra – For maintaining peace and law and order in the city, the Police Department undertook a special drive against unauthorised loudspeakers on mosques under which 22 loudspeakers have been removed. The action was taken as per the Supreme Court’s order, removing loudspeakers from 8 mosques and 5 temples. After the incident of stone-pelting between two groups a few days ago, causing tension in the area, Superintendent of Police, Atul Kulkarni, held a meeting with the peace-keeping committee and amicably solved the problem. He instructed to remove the unauthorised loudspeakers. (Why the Police took so much time to remove loudspeakers ? Are  they going to take action only after happening of the incidents ? – Editor)
