10 lakh out of 30 lakh Afghan refugees in Pakistan deported

New York (USA) – The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has said that there were currently about 20 lakh (2 million) Afghan refugees living in Pakistan despite over 10 lakh (1 million) Afghan citizens returning to their country in 2025.

According to the latest data from the United Nations, the campaign to repatriate Afghans under the Pakistan Government’s ‘Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan’ has been intensified. In November alone, 1,71,055 lakh Afghan citizens returned to Afghanistan. Of these, 37,899 were sent through the Chaman, Torkham and Barabcha border crossings.
