Karachi (Pakistan) – In Pakistan’s Sindh province school, Hindu female students were allegedly asked to accept Islam. The government has ordered an inquiry into the incident. The incident occurred in a government school at Mirpur Sakro in Sindh towards the end of November and has triggered widespread public outrage.
Parents of the female Hindu students informed local media about the incident. According to their reports, the school headmaster told these students that they would have to accept Islam to continue their education. The students’ religion was mocked, and they were forced to recite the Kalma. Female students who refused to accept Islam or recite the Kalma were sent back home.
In this regard, Minister of State for Religious Affairs Kheeso Mal Kheal Das issued an official statement. He informed the upper house of Parliament that the provincial Education Minister has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
Editorial PerspectiveSuch incident in Pakistan is not a surprise. Till a single Hindus is in Pakistan, such incidents will continue. The situation clearly indicates that Hindus across the world, their organisations, and even governments including India, remain inactive spectators. |
