KC Gandhi English School prohibits students from wearing kumkum, tilak, etc.

Kalyan (District Thane) – Kalyan’s famous Smt. KC Gandhi English School has prohibited its students from abiding by Hindu practices such as applying kumkum on their forehead, wearing bangles, wearing rakhis or tying a sacred thread on the wrist, etc. This decision of the school administration has angered the parents. The Education Department of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has asked the School Administration for an explanation.

Threatening to physically beat students on applying a tilak

The parents said that whenever a student applied a tilak to his forehead, it was forcibly wiped off in school. They claimed that in some cases the students were also physically beaten. They further alleged that the teachers were threatening students that if they come to school applying a tilak they will be punished. (If this claim is true, then it extremely wrong. If the teachers spoke in this manner to a Muslim girl student about removing her hijab in school, there would be violence with slogans of ‘Sarr tan se juda (Decapitation)’. This is a fact. – Editor)

Complaint lodged with Education Department of KDMC

A complaint has been lodged with Rupesh Bhoir, Coordinator of Thackeray group  for the constituency of Kalyan Legislative Assembly against the school’s decision of not allowing the Hindu students to abide by their Dharma. Bhoir has in turn filed a complaint with KDMC’s Education Department.

Editor’s Perspectives

  • O’ Hindus ! Decide whether you want to send your children to a school that prohibits abiding by Hindu Dharma. Take serious note that this act is a type of religious conversion.
  • The smallest of practices in Hindu Dharma are Chaitanya-imparting and beneficial. Parents should resolve that their children will abide by Hindu Dharma.
  • Will the teachers dare to threaten and prohibit practices of other religions ?
