Board banning the play of Garba

Kheda (Gujarat) – A signboard prohibiting doing Garba in the vicinity of mosques, dargahs, and madrasas has been put up in Hussaini Chowk in Nani Bhagol village of Kheda. Hindu organisations strongly opposed this. They filed a complaint at the Matar police station, stating that the signboard was unconstitutional. Bajrang Dal district coordinator Keyur Patel informed that the local mosque committee had put up the signboard on the wall of a private property.

Matar police station inspector R.N. Khat said that the police took immediate action on receiving the complaint. The mosque committee was informed about the incident and ordered to remove the board. After that, the text on the board was erased by applying black paint. The police have registered a case, and the person who put up the board shall be arrested after investigation.

Editorial Perspective

How do they dare to put up a signboard ? Secondly, why would Hindus choose such places for Garba ? If they organise a Garba there, fanatic Muslims might participate by hiding their identity and lure and seduce Hindu girls into a trap, this is another issue about holding Garbas at such places.
