No restrictions should be imposed on Ganeshotsav in Tamil Nadu : Hindu Makkal Katchi

  • Hindu Makkal Katchi submits statement of appeal to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu

  • Demand to file a case against Vairamuthu for insulting Hinduism

(Hindu Makkal Katchi is also known as Hindu Janata Party)

Hindu Makkal Katchi President Mr Arjun Sampath

Chennai – Hindu Makkal Katchi, a staunch pro-Hindu organisation, has demanded through a memorandum that the Tamil Nadu Government extend full cooperation for organising Vinayagar Chaturthi (Ganeshotsav) as a spiritual festival without imposing any restrictions. This memorandum was submitted to Chief Minister M K Stalin.

In a recent programme held in Chennai, Tamil poet Vairamuthu deliberately used derogatory words such as ‘criminal’ and ‘madman’ while referring to Shriram, who is revered by Hindus. He also insulted Sita Mata and the Ramayan. This has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of Shriram devotees across Tamil Nadu. Therefore, Hindu Makkal Katchi President Mr Arjun Sampath demanded that a case be filed against Vairamuthu, and he should be arrested and punished as per law.

Other key demands made to the CM to protect Hindus from injustice in Tamil Nadu

1. Preserve the sanctity of Tirupparankundram Hills !

The ruling DMK Government is allegedly yielding to the demands of radical Islamic organisations to permit goat and chicken sacrifices, thereby attempting to transform Tirupparankundram Hill into Sikandar Hill. Tirupparankundram Hills belong to Lord Murugan, and their sanctity must be preserved.

2. Do not shield the convent school; release wrongfully arrested pro-Hindu activists

In Tirupattur District, a student named Mukhilan from the Government-aided Christian institution, Savio (Xavier) High School, was found dead in a well within the school premises. Since the school allegedly tried to cover up the incident, pro-Hindu organisations and opposition leaders approached the District authorities for justice. However, Police arrested 30 people, including Hindu Makkal Katchi State Secretary V K Selvam, representatives from BJP and AIADMK, and the advocate representing parents, and sent them to jail. Hindu Makkal Katchi demands a proper investigation and immediate release of all those arrested.

3. Boycott American products

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has threatened India with tariffs on Indian goods. In this context, both the Union and State governments should impose a boycott on American products.

4. Rename a street in Chennai named after an anti-Hindu Archbishop

It is inappropriate to name a street after late Archbishop Ezra Sargunam, who incited hatred against Hindus and even called for violence against them. The signboard bearing his name must be removed immediately.

5. Grant permission for Hindu Makkal Katchi’s campaign ‘Victory of Spiritual Tamil Nadu’

Under the title ‘Victory of Spiritual Tamil Nadu’, Hindu Janata Party organises public meetings, street plays, and related programmes. At present, it has become necessary to seek Court approval for every such programme. Hindu Makkal Katchi demands that permission be granted for these strategic campaigns, and all false cases filed in this regard should be withdrawn.

Editorial Perspectives

  • In an independent India, when the majority Hindus have to demand the right to celebrate their festivals without restrictions, one wonders—is this India, or Bangladesh or Pakistan? For Hindus, this situation is disgraceful !
  • In a democratic India, the religious sentiments of the majority are openly insulted, and worse, no action is taken against those who hurt these sentiments. Consequently, pro-Hindu organisations are compelled to raise demands for justice. Such devious moves that weaken democracy must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.
