
Kashipur (Uttarakhand) – A shocking incident took place at Shri Gurunanak Senior Secondary School in Kashipur, where a class 9 student opened fire on his teacher. The teacher, Gangadeep Singh Kohli, sustained serious injuries in the attack. The student had hidden a country-made pistol inside his lunchbox and brought it to school. Two days earlier, the teacher had slapped and scolded him in class for failing to answer a question, which allegedly provoked the act. The police have registered a case and the boy has been sent to police custody.

1. The incident occurred when the teacher was leaving the classroom after finishing his lecture. The student suddenly pulled out the gun from his lunchbox and fired from behind. The bullet struck the teacher’s right shoulder. While attempting to flee, the boy was caught by other school staff. The injured teacher was rushed to a private hospital.
2. The gunfire inside the school has created an atmosphere of fear among both students and teachers.
3. Leaders of school associations have condemned the attack and demanded tighter security arrangements in schools.
