Shri Maruti Temple Desecrated by Placing Pieces of Meat at Brahmgaon (Beed District)

5,000 citizens attend Maha Aarti after purification of the temple

Georai (Beed District) – Anger has spread in the area after pieces of meat were found in front of the Shri Maruti Temple at Brahmgaon in Georai Taluka. Villagers have alleged that this was an attempt to hurt Hindu religious sentiments and disturb communal harmony. In this regard, Chaklamba Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and commenced an investigation.

On the morning of 29 May, individuals who had gone to the temple for worship found pieces of meat in front of the temple. As soon as the news spread, villagers, Hindu organisations, and local residents gathered in large numbers at the temple premises. Under the guidance of H.B.P. Dattagiri Maharaj, the idol was purified with Panchamrit and Ganga water, following which a Maha Abhishek, Puja (worship), and Maha Aarti were conducted. Approximately 5,000 citizens attended the Maha Aarti organised by the Sakal Hindu Samaj.

On receiving news about the incident, Chaklamba Police arrived at the scene. The police conducted a panchnama and inspected the area. Samples of the meat have been sent to a forensic team for examination to determine from which animal the meat came from. Following the incident, the Sakal Hindu Samaj and local villagers demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and strict action against them. Sachin Ingale, the officer in charge of Chaklamba Police Station, stated that a case has been registered against unknown persons and that efforts are being made to identify the accused through CCTV footage and technical investigation.
