Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Hariparvat, Aditya, said that the four friends had got together for a party. Bottles of alcohol was confiscated from them.
The victim was a fifth-grade student at the madarasa and had been staying in the hostel since July 2024.
Mobiles in the school are banned, yet the student violated the rule and brought it to the school. The student threatened the headmaster when his mobile was confiscated.
The teacher also runs coaching at home apart from teaching in the school. The accused student used to attend tuition at the teacher’s house.
Qasim told during the Police enquiry that he had been following the girl for 4-5 days before the incident.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has said that Madarasas violate children’s fundamental right to education.
The injured student is being treated and reported to be out of danger.
The victim, Yuvraj Goyal, arrived in Canada in 2019 on a student visa and had recently received his Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) status.
After the body was found, angry mob ransacked the school grounds and set the building on fire.
