Congress Muslim MP Opposes Order to Hoist National Flag on Mosques, Dargahs, and Madrasas on August 15

New Delhi – The Chhattisgarh State Waqf Board had issued an order that on August 15 (Independence Day), the national flag must be hoisted on all mosques, dargahs, and madrasas. The order also stated, “Those who do not hoist the national flag will be considered Pakistani.”
🇮🇳 National flag is a matter of pride, not defiance!
Congress MP Tariq Anwar opposes the order to hoist the Tricolour on mosques, dargahs & madrasas this #IndependenceDay
When some deliberately refuse to honour the #NationalFlag & work against it, such orders become essential… https://t.co/vUylL2F1BA pic.twitter.com/qkyK3HnBUf

Congress MP Tariq Anwar criticized the directive, saying:
“In my opinion, all this is unnecessary. In our country, there is no tradition of hoisting the national flag on religious places. People hoist the national flag voluntarily. It cannot be hoisted through pressure or by imposing restrictions. Hoisting the national flag comes from feelings of patriotism and respect within the heart. Forcing it or making it compulsory in this way is wrong.”
Editorial PerspectiveThose who do not even wish to hoist the Indian national flag, and instead act against the nation, must be compelled through such orders. Action should also be taken against those opposing it! |
