Continuous chanting with background of ‘Taal-Mrudang’ !
Hundreds of groups of Warkari singing devotional songs, playing ‘Taal-Mrudang’ joined the ‘Dindi’ of Saints Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram Maharaj. Every group is led by a few Warkaris carrying saffron flags; followed by Warkari women carrying ‘Tulsi-Vrindavan’. Warkari were singing devotional songs in many ‘Dindi’, playing ‘mridang’ etc., chanting Shri Vitthal’s name on their way.
Highlights from Wari !
1. There were trucks or tempos accompanying ‘Dindi’ to carry luggage of Warkari; but there were many Warkaris without vehicles who carried their luggage over their own heads.
2. Every Warkari had ‘tilak’ on his forehead while many wore caps or ‘pagree’.
3. A few Warkari wore caps with the name of ‘Operation Sindoor (strike carried out by Indian armed forces against Pakistan)’ written on them. A few Warkaris were wearing caps with names of elected representatives.
4. Elected representatives from different parties, local ‘mandal’ offering social service were distributing water, bananas, biscuits, snacks and meals to Warkaris.
5. Women from Warkari ‘Dindi’ were allowed to use washrooms by people from private houses on the route of Wari.
6. A few persons were offering service of even hair cutting for free in the ‘Wari’.
