Brutal daylight murder of the chief priest of the Jagannath temple in Puri (Odisha)

Preliminary information that the murder was committed due to a personal dispute

Puri (Odisha) – Jagannath Dixit, the chief priest of the Jagannath temple here, has been murdered. It is surprising that the chief priest was murdered in broad daylight, despite the heavy Police deployment here. Due to this incident, there is currently a tense atmosphere in the area and tight security has been put in place.

The incident of this murder is said to have been captured on CCTV camera. In this, a person is seen throwing the body of the priest out of the door. Locals claimed that the person seen throwing the body is a money-grubber. He killed the priest of the temple; because he had demanded his money back.

Puri Superintendent of Police Vineet Agarwal said that the murder was committed due to personal enmity. Investigation is underway by collecting CCTV footage. The real reason behind the murder will come out only after the investigation is completed.
