Hanif Sheikh Ali arrested; cases registered against three others

Dapoli (Ratnagiri District), June 7 – In Visapur’s Shamsher Ali Nagar locality, Dapoli police rescued 29 cattle that had been unlawfully confined in a house with the intention of being slaughtered. One person has been arrested, and three others have been booked in connection with the incident.

Details of the Incident:

  • On June 7, Dapoli police received confidential information that cattle were being confined for slaughter inside a house in Shamsher Ali Nagar, Visapur, within the jurisdiction of the Dapoli police station. Acting on this tip-off, the police conducted a raid on the premises.
  • During the raid, the police discovered bulls, cows, and calves tied and locked inside. Additionally, during an inspection of the nearby forested area adjacent to the house of Hanif Sheikh Ali Malvankar, they found three more cattle tied up for slaughter.
  • In total, 10 bulls, 15 cows, and 4 calves were rescued from the house and the surrounding forested area. All rescued animals were immediately transferred to a cattle shelter (goshala).
  • The main accused, Hanif Sheikh Ali Malvankar, has been taken into custody. In addition, his son and brother have also been booked under relevant charges. The police are conducting further investigation.
  • The operation was carried out by Dapoli Police Station’s in-charge Inspector Vivek Ahire, along with subordinate officers and constables.
