Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) – Former Director of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), K.K. Muhammed, has made a significant statement regarding excavations in Sambhal.
“If we attempt to uncover temples beneath every mosque, a civil war may break out, turning India’s situation into that of Afghanistan or Israel. This would not be good for the country,” he said. Muhammed made this remark while attending the ongoing ‘Vikram Utsav’ festival in Ujjain.

K.K. Muhammed acknowledged that numerous mosques were constructed atop temples and that historical evidence has repeatedly confirmed this. He stressed that such disputes must be resolved through dialogue.
