A possibility of civil war if temples are searched beneath every mosque

Statement by former ASI Director KK Muhammed

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) – Former Director of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), K.K. Muhammed, has made a significant statement regarding excavations in Sambhal.

“If we attempt to uncover temples beneath every mosque, a civil war may break out, turning India’s situation into that of Afghanistan or Israel. This would not be good for the country,” he said. Muhammed made this remark while attending the ongoing ‘Vikram Utsav’ festival in Ujjain.

Key Highlights of His Statements :

“Historical Evidence Confirms That Many Mosques Were Built Over Temples”

K.K. Muhammed acknowledged that numerous mosques were constructed atop temples and that historical evidence has repeatedly confirmed this. However, he warned that actively searching for temples beneath every mosque would only lead to unrest and conflicts, achieving nothing in the long run. He stressed that such disputes must be resolved through dialogue.

Muslims Should Display Generosity & Return Kashi-Mathura to Hindus

Muhammed had earlier stated that Muslims should voluntarily return Kashi and Mathura to Hindus, as a goodwill gesture.
