New Delhi – BJP MP Dinesh Sharma and Union Minister Krishna Pal Gurjar have removed ‘Tughlaq Lane’ from the nameplate outside their official residence and replaced it with ‘Vivekananda Marg’. However, this change has not been made officially. Opposition parties have strongly objected, claiming that renaming places is a distortion of history.

Meanwhile, BJP argues that the names of Mughal rulers should be removed and replaced with names of great Indian personalities.
Editorial PerspectiveWhy has the municipal authority not yet changed the names of roads named after Mughal rulers like Tughlaq, Babur, Akbar, and Humayun, despite years of demands ? How many more years should Hindus keep asking for this ? Now that BJP is in power in Delhi, the Government must take decisive action. |
