Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar tears apart Mughals in the Assembly

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – “Mughal Emperor Akbar, who built ‘Meena Bazaar’ (a shopping place meant only for women built during the Mughal era), was a rapist, invader and looter. He was called ‘the great’. Aurangzeb killed countless Hindus, demolished hundreds of temples and imposed Jizya tax on Hindus. This was an insult to the country and our great men. This cannot be tolerated,” said Madan Dilawar, Education Minister in the BJP Government of Rajasthan, in the Legislative Assembly. Dilawar had made similar statements about Akbar earlier too.
Do you have any relations with Akbar ? : Dilawar asks opposition MLAs
After some opposition MLAs objected to Dilawar’s statement, Education Minister Dilawar asked, “Do you have any relations with Akbar ? The brutality of the Mughal emperors was hidden from the students of the country. This was taught in textbooks for many years. The aggressive and cruel ruler Timur was described as ‘great’. This was completely wrong. We are very saddened by what the previous Governments taught about great men. They tried to belittle the bravery of Maharana Pratap.”
