Georgia (USA) – Georgia has become the first state in the US to introduce a bill that will formally recognise Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu discrimination. If it becomes law, Georgia will update its penal code, enabling law enforcement agencies to consider Hinduphobia and take appropriate action. This comes even as Indian-origin lawmakers have flagged rising cases of Hindu-hatred in the US. This law will be included in the current law that prohibits discrimination on the basis race, colour, religion, and country of origin.
