Muslim arrested under National Security Act for insulting Hindu Deity in Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh)

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) – Tension arose here after Abdul Hafeez made objectionable remarks against Mata Budhi Khermai Devi, a revered Hindu Deity here. Angry Hindus took to the streets and protested. Abdul Majeed had made obscene and insulting remarks in a WhatsApp group. The police arrested Abdul Majeed in this case. The police took action against Abdul Majeed under the National Security Act and sent him to the Central Jail. Abdul Majeed has a previous case of hurting religious sentiments. (If such a fanatic had been severely punished in the last crime, he would not have done the same thing again ! Will he be severely punished without being granted bail now ? – Editor)

Editorial Perspective

There is a need to enact a law to punish such people with the death penalty like in Pakistan. The Union Government should now look into this seriously !
