Fearful Hindus taking shelters

Murshidabad (Bengal) – Religious fanatic Muslims have started violence in recent days over the Waqf Reform Act. So far, 3 Hindus have been killed, many Hindus’ houses and shops have been looted and set ablaze. Due to this, more than 400 Hindus have fled from the area in fear, while many have taken shelter in schools in other villages. Following an order from the Calcutta High Court, Border Security Force personnel and 1,000 Police officers have been deployed in the area. Senior officials are also stationed there. (It is shameful for the State Government that the High Court has to issue orders to maintain law and order – Editor)

Hindus flee across the river – BJP

BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, alleged that due to fear of the religious fanatic Muslims, more than 400 Hindus from the Dhuliyan area of Murshidabad District were forced to flee their homes. These Hindus crossed the river and took shelter at Lalpur High School in the Deonapur-Sovapur Gram Panchayat area of Baisnabnagar, Malda District. The politics of appeasement by Trinamool Congress has encouraged extremist forces. As a result, Hindus now feel unsafe in their own land. This is a complete failure of law and order.

Victimised Hindus recount attacks by religious fanatic Muslims

1. Manju Bhagat, wife of trader Amar Bhagat, said, “A mob of religious fanatics Muslims first tried to break our front door. When they could not, they started entering from the back door. They broke our motorcycle, entered the house, and looted chairs, mattresses, TV, and expensive items. Our entire family was chanting God’s name. We hid on the roof to save our lives. I kept thinking, what if these religious fanatics raped my daughter ?”

2. An eyewitness said, “Muslims set an ambulance on fire. The driver was beaten severely. We were locked in our houses out of fear. I kept my parents, wife, and children inside the house. These Muslims were not outsiders, they were locals.”

3. Another victim told news agency ANI (Asian News International), “Muslims broke motorcycles, set shops on fire, and looted our belongings. We stayed awake all night in fear. There were no Police anywhere. They were running to save their own lives. Now let us see if the Government gives us any compensation.”

4. ‘Subha Smriti Hotel’, a sweet shop owned by a Hindu couple in Suti, was completely destroyed in the Muslim attack. The shop owner, crying, said, “Everything has been looted. The cash in the shop, the goods, nothing is left. We have lost everything. What will we eat now?”

Editorial Perspective

Bengal has turned into another Bangladesh. Political parties and organisations in the country are indifferent to this warning. What is happening in Bengal today may happen in most parts of the country tomorrow, where will Hindus flee then ?
