Devotees requested not to come for darshan wearing revealing or inappropriate clothing to preserve the sanctity of the temple(Dress code refers to the guidelines regarding attire to be worn while visiting the temple) |
Pune (Maharashtra) – A dress code has been announced for darshan at five temples including three of the Ashtavinayak Ganpati temples: Morgaon’s Moreshwar, Theur’s Chintamani, and Siddhatek’s Siddhivinayak, as well as Morya Gosavi Sanjeevan Temple in Chinchwad and the Khar Narangi Temple. This dress code has been implemented by the Chinchwad Deosthan Trust, which governs these temples. However, it is not a mandatory rule, but rather a request to devotees to not wear revealing or inappropriate clothing, in order to maintain the sanctity of the temple. Going forward, devotees visiting these five Ganpati temples in Pune District are expected to wear full and modest attire while standing in line for darshan.
Appeal made via letter from the Chinchwad Deosthan Trust :
1. The Sanctum of Mahasadhu Shri Morya Gosavi Maharaj and Shri Mangalmurti Wada are not just structures but centres of spirituality, culture, and devotion. Every devotee visiting these temples is requested to respect their sacredness and cooperate in maintaining a devotional environment.
2. Men are expected to wear traditional and decent clothing. Women are encouraged to wear sarees, salwar kameez, Punjabi suits, or other traditional outfits. No one should wear ultra-modern, non-traditional, transparent, tight-fitting, sleeveless, torn, body-revealing, or informal clothes within the temple premises.
Editorial PerspectiveA commendable decision by the Chinchwad Deosthan Trust ! |
