Akhada Parishad and State Government should curb politicisation in ‘Kumbha Mela’ : Maulana Rizvi

Maulana Shahabuddin Rizvi (of Bareilly) demands action against posters put up by Saints in the Kumbha Mela

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) – Many Saints have displayed hoardings at different places in the ‘Mahakumbha Mela’ at Prayagraj. One of them is Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharyaji Maharaj (from Nanej, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra) who has displayed a few hoardings. One hoarding says – ‘Sanatan sattvik hai, par kayar nahi (Sanatan is ‘Sattvik’ but not cowardly)’. Another says –  ‘Darenge toh marenge (We will die if we fear)’. A third says – ‘Waqf ke naam par sampatti ki loot hai, Dharmanirpeksha desh mein yeh kaisi chhoot hai (Under the guise of Waqf, wealth is being looted; what kind of concession is this in a secular country ?)’.

Muslims are now protesting against these hoardings.

Maulana Shahabuddin Rizvi has strongly opposed the hoardings put up by the Saints in Prayagraj’s Kumbha Mela. He has said that the Kumbh Mela is a Holy fair, and politics here will be against the sanctity of this fair. He demanded that the Akhada Parishad and the State Government ban those who say such things. He also said that all the land under the Waqf Board has been given by Muslims. No Hindu has given any land.

I support formation of a Sanatan Board – Saints and Seers

“Sanatan Board should be formed, I support it. It is very important to monitor the land and properties in temples and Muths. The Saints and Sages are currently the enemies of Hindu-Muslim unity. They want to divide the country in the name of Hindus and Muslims, which will never happen. I request the Government to take strict action against those who incite violence and talk of dividing the society.” (Saints and Seers are creating awareness amongst the Hindus to save them from the self-destructive stupor of secularism which has caused anxiety amongst Muslims, and hence, they are opposing it. Two Nations were created by dividing India for the Muslims; still Hindus and Muslims could not be brought together since it was a one-sided unity which Hindus have started realising. The issues raised by the Saints through hoardings are factual and are meant for creating awareness amongst the Hindus. Why should the Maulana object ? The Government should take action against those who object the activities of Saints and Seers in the religious festivals of Hindus. – Editor)
