Police Refuse to Register Complaint Initially

Mumbai – In Chiragnagar, Ghatkopar, a Muslim youth abducted a Hindu girl four days ago. The girl’s parents filed a complaint at Chiragnagar police station, but the police initially refused to register the case. Following protests by Hindu activists demanding action against “Love Jihad,” the police finally registered the case on November 19.
The family informed the police that the Muslim youth who abducted the girl has a history of criminal behaviour and substance abuse. They also revealed that he had previously blackmailed the girl’s mother with obscene photos of her daughter to extort money. Both the Hindu girl and the Muslim youth have been missing for the past four days. Hindu activists have vowed not to leave the police station until the girl is found. Under pressure, the police eventually filed the case.
