Mumbai – “Sudhir Mungantiwar, Maharashtra’s Cultural Minister, has suggested celebrating the birth anniversaries of Jijamata, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj as per the Hindu calendar or tithis and not as per date. Does Sudhir Mungantiwar celebrate his birthday as per Hindu calendar ? Why does the Government want to celebrate the birth anniversary as per Hindu calendar ? What is their intention behind this ? Bahujans will oppose this. Former Chief Minister late Vilasrao Deshmukh had said that the birth anniversary of national heroes should be celebrated according to the date. The same should be followed,” demanded Jitendra Awhad, MLA of Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP on 29thJune in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
