Beginning of Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) – Amarnath Temple is a Hindu shrine located in the Pahalgam tehsil of the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. More than 13,000 pilgrims visited the holy cave shrine of Amarnath on 29thJune to visit the Baba Barfani Shivalinga, which is naturally formed from the ice in the holy cave on the first day. The first batch of pilgrims had left the twin base camps in Baltal and Pahalgam to start their journey to the cave shrine located at an altitude of 3,880 metres. Amarnath Yatra will last for 52 days. This journey will end on 19thAugust. This year more than 3,50,000 people have registered for Amarnath Yatra.
