SC cites reason that these Yoga Camps are chargeable and not free

New Delhi – “Patanjali Yogapeeth Trust, the organisation of Yogrushi Ramdev Baba, charges fees from the participants for its Yoga Camps, which makes them a service. Hence, it is binding for the Trust to pay ‘Service Taxes’ for these Yoga Camps”, stated the Supreme Court bench comprised of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Ujjwal Bhuyan. The SC has upheld the decision of Allahabad bench of Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal.
