Kolkata – “Those people (Hindu devotees) forcibly entered Gyanvapi and started worshipping there. They must immediately relinquish control over Gyanvapi. Do we ever go to temples for our prayers ? (A mindset of falsehood and vehement proclamation among fanatic Muslims ! – Editor) Then why are those people coming to our mosque ? A mosque remains a mosque. If anyone is converting our mosque into a temple, we will not stay quiet. We won’t allow this to happen,” declared Siddiqullah Chowdhury, the head of Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind in Bengal, during an event here.
Under Chowdhury’s leadership, a march was carried out in Kolkata to oppose the worship by Hindus in Gyanvapi. “Yogi Adityanath has no idea what decisions he is making. If he were in Bengal today, we wouldn’t have let him out,” Chowdhury also threatened at the time.
