During Congress regime the land near Shriram Temple handed over for Muslim burial ground before the elections were announced

  • Land reservation cancelled
  • Minister assures an inquiry

Nagpur, 15th December (Reuter) – In 2014, during the Congress regime before the Assembly elections code of conduct came into effect, the two-and-a-half thousand square meter land next to Shriram temple, located at Aarey colony unit 20, was handed over to a private organisation, for the Muslim burial ground. For this, the prior reservation of the land was cancelled blatantly. BJP MLA Yogesh Sagar gave this shocking news in the parliament. He added that Prithviraj Chavan was the Chief Minister in the year 2013, he handed over this land to ‘Anjuman Talim Ul Quran Sunni Taha Majjid’, a private organisation, as, Minister Naseem Khan pressurised him. Industrial development corporation and Municipality owned this land and it was transferred to District Commissioner. A Muslim burial ground already exists just a kilometre from Shriram Temple; even then, this land was given for the same purpose. This land was reserved for medical facilities, but it was changed when Uddhav Thackrey was the Chief Minister. Public opinion was not even sought for this issue.

Minister Uday Samant announced in the House that the entire matter will be probed by authorities at the commissioner level.
