The matter of the deportation of lakhs of Afghans from Pakistan
Action will be taken against Pakistan! – warns the Taliban |
Islamabad (Pakistan) – The Pakistan Government had passed an order saying that the lakhs of Afghans staying in Pakistan should return to Afghanistan by the 31st of October. Hence, thousands of Afghans are returning through the northwestern Torkham border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pakistan Police have taken into custody Afghans who are still in Pakistan. The Pakistan Government will be forcefully deporting these Afghans. According to local news channels till now 63,000 Afghans have been deported to their country.
Taliban’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai said we will act against this action of the Pakistan Police. Pakistan Government’s action is improper and inhuman. It is necessary that they review their decision.
Approximately more than 17 lakh Afghan citizens are living in Pakistan. Of these, most are illegal residents. The maximum Afghan huts are situated in Karachi city’s Sohrab Goth area.
The concerned official said that they are fleeing in such large numbers that it is becoming difficult for us to provide bus facilities for them. Some people have been forced to leave their homes and live in the camps. The greatest problem for the Afghan refugees on return to Afghanistan will be for the girls and the women folk. The reason for this is the fact that there is a ban on education for girls in Afghanistan.
