Beijing (China) – China wants to become the biggest superpower in the world. It is busy increasing its stockpile of nuclear weapons for this. China aims to develop 1,000 nuclear bombs by 2030. This story has been revealed in an American report. The report, released by the Pentagon, said that China could develop a new intercontinental ballistic missile system, which would also use conventional weapons. This could lead to China threatening to target the US.
The report comes a month ahead of an expected meeting between Xi Jinping and Joe Biden on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in San Francisco next month. This report, released annually, is the Pentagon’s way of measuring China’s growing military capabilities.
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Russia has 5,889 nuclear weapons, the US has 3,750 nuclear weapons, and China currently has 500 nuclear weapons.
